The past few months have been rough for Jahlil Okafor, who fell out of rotation on the Philadelphia Sixers where he was drafted two seasons ago. That is about to change after the 6’11 center was dealt to the Brooklyn Nets in a two-way deal that also sent shooting guard Nik Stauskas and a second-round pick in exchange for Trevor Booker.

Okafor only played two games and a combined 25 minutes for the Sixers since the start of the 2017/2018 season.

Okafor is expected to have a larger role with the Nets, which is undergoing development with a new cast that includes D’Angelo Russell, a fellow member of the 2015 NBA Draft class. Russell and Okafor were selected second and third by the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia Sixers in 2015 and will now form a tandem in Brooklyn where they hope to make solid impact even though both players had rough starts their first two seasons in the NBA.
