Jewel Bulls defeat Impression Academy to win 2016 Division II title as both teams qualify for Division I

The Jewel Bulls of Gombe defeated Impression Academy 84-74 on Saturday 10 October to win the 2016 title of the National Division II Men’s Championship in Abuja, Nigeria.

The two finalists, Jewel Bulls and Impression, have qualified for the National Division I Championships which tips-off November 16.

Lesu Liman of Jewel Bulls was named Most Valuable Player of the finals.

The Jewel Bulls, though going undefeated the entire tournament, encountered a stiff challenge in the semifinal game as they were challenged by a strong Suleja Hornets in a game that went into overtime before eventually winning 76-71.

Raptors Academy won the 3rd place position, defeating Pearl’s Academy 56-52.
